Situated in the commune of Martillac, just near Bordeaux city, Château Smith Haut Lafitte das a 30 year old history. It was bought in 1990 by the couple of skiers Florence and Daniel Cathiard who had invested a lot to perpetuate the wine’s tradition of excellence.
Since years, the property has chosen the strategy of preserving biodiversity and practice organic winegrowing. In order to achieve this, the team of SHL constantly study and experiment with new technologies on behalf of our winegrowing philosophy, which can be summed up in the expression “Bio-Precision”.

Description
Presents a pale yellow color. Very expressive, the nose reveals explosive scents of citrus fruits (pink grapefruit, citron) and yellow fruits (fresh mangoes, vine peaches) to which are added floral (acacia) and mineral (flint) notes. Harmonious and elegant on the palate, the wine is fresh , dense and reveals a wonderful texture . Long, smooth, complex , lively, Château Smith Haut Lafitte 2016 offers a finish of extraordinary salinity

“The Smith Haut Lafitte 2016 Blanc is a blend of 90% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Sauvignon Gris and 5% Sémillon matured in 50% new oak. It reveals gregarious pineapple and green guava notes giving way to tantalizing fresh grapefruit and green apples scents plus wafts of orange blossom, crushed rocks and honey drizzled peaches. Medium to full-bodied with a gorgeous satiny texture, the palate is jam-packed with tropical and citrus flavors, finishing long and deliciously savory.” – Wine Advocate

“A blend of 90% Sauvignon Blanc with 5% Sauvignon Gris and 5% Sémillon, the Smith Haut Lafitte 2017 Blanc offers up gorgeous, super-intense scents of pink grapefruit, white peaches, kumquats and ginger with wafts of under-ripe pineapple, lime blossoms and crushed rocks.
