Château Couhins, white
AOC Pessac-Leognan
Château Couhins (“Confins” or “Border” in old Gascon) takes its name from its geographical position on the border of the old Comté d’Ornon, marked by a stream called the Eau Blanche. Until the seventeenth century the château of Couhins and Carbonnieux were part of the same estate.
Their wine-production probably dates back to ancient times, like many of the large vineyards on the edge of the city of Bordeaux.
The property has obtained the HEV3 certification since 2017.

Description
Presents an aromatic profile marked by the imprint of Sauvignon Blanc . Intensely expressive and of great aromatic purity, the bouquet literally springs from the glass, opening onto the tangy freshness of citrus notes, evoking lemon zest and tangerine. Beautiful notes of green apple, floral and smoky notes then appear. On the palate, the palate presents a superb definition, evolving with roundness and generosity. The fat of the fruit is balanced by a lively tension and a biting acidity which support the vintage until a persistent and aromatic finish.
Tasting
“The Couhins 2018 Blanc comes bounding out of the glass with vibrant pineapple, guava and passion fruit scents plus nuances of lemon drops, wild thyme and crushed rocks. Medium-bodied, it gives a good intensity of citrus and tropical fruit with a lively backbone and herbal lift on the finish.” – Wine Advocate
