Château Ampelia
AOC Castillon – Côtes de Bordeaux
In 1999 François Despagne, owner of Château Grand Corbin-Despagne, acquired around 5 hectares of vines in Castillon – Côtes de Bordeaux. The vines overlooked the plateau of Saint-Philippe d’Aiguilhe, at 110 metres altitude, the highest point in the whole of the Bordeaux area, with 6 hectares of surface area. The property was named Ampélia, from the Greek Ampelos (the vine). Certified organic wine since 2010.

Tasting
Rich yet finely balanced, this wine has both ripe blackberry flavor as well as freshness. With such good structure and solid concentration, there is obviously ageing potential in this impressive wine. Drink from 2016. ROGER VOSS (Wine Enthousiaste)
