Jean Merlaut Story

Jean Merlaut’s origins in the world of wine and his experience as a producer gave him all the credentials necessary to become a viticultural consultant, and enabled him to develop trusted relations with his clients as a wine trader.

A leading figure in the wine world and owner of numerous Bordeaux châteaux – Château Gruaud Larose (2nd Grand Cru Classé), Château Dudon, Château Malagar, Château Sainte Catherine, Château Saint Bonnet – and the Sainte-Anne des Abatilles mineral water spring, he created the SAS Jean Merlaut trading house in 1978.
